media refactorization

26 Dec 2025 - nzge

creating new forms of consumption out of the same creative throughpout such as turning a youtube video into a bunch of shorts, perhaps writing a blog out of the script, and chopping it up into various other forms across different platforms. or turning a stream into a video and a bunch of shorts

does refactoring content breathe new life into the things we create in a productive/positive way? does it change the nature of the original creation. does the way its spliced and put together transform something?

perhaps the answer is yes. when we take ingredients, and shuffle them and form them into something, the form of it makes it so the ingredients become greater than a sum of its parts. perhaps this is not the best analogy though since the act of cooking is creation itself. its a far more transformative act than simply chopping a video up. maybe a better analogy is taking a cucumber and turning it into slices. the utility of it changes completely. you can put it on your face now. eat it slice by slice. consumed in a way that’s easier to process.

without a doubt its beneficial for any content creator to boost their traction by spreading content as far and wide as possible monetarily its a no brainer. great benefit (more traction, more views, more money) for realtively little effort

but i mean as a whole for humanity. is it healthy for people to be able to digest information so readily in any form they choose? is there such thing as information in an unhealthy form?
