When we physically occupy a space for enough time, do we eventually spiritually occupy a space, calling it home? Where does this adaptation come from? The way we lay our imprint on the space physically? What makes a space more homely. No matter how dicrepid and disgusting the place, do humans have the innate ability to call anywhere home?

can we mold our soul and spirit to conform to/occupy any physical space in harmony? do humans possess that innate ability, some requiring more work to draw that out of them?

this thought was spurred by my experience living at UCLA. i have lived in a plethora living arrangements during my time, ranging from pretty nice to putrid/disgusting. yet with each place, provided some settling time, i have been able to reach a comparable level of physical and emotional comfort each time.

perhaps that speaks to my natural ability to adapt lol? i guess these changes truly aren’t that dramatic, and i am just hyperbolizing the whole topic.
