Project objective: Design and manufacture a high-precision fixture for an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) probe system used with a Zeiss microscope in a dual-sensing array configuration. The fixture must accommodate two probes: one directed orthogonally at the observed target (the eye), and another redirected via an optical element (e.g., mirror or lens) to intersect the same target region. This setup is intended for laparoscopic ophthalmic procedures, requiring micron-level alignment accuracy, mechanical stability, and compatibility with existing surgical and imaging systems.

Background

The OCT informs axial depth (z), whereas the Zeiss microscope informs laterial (x,y) positioning.

The mechanical Remote Center of Motion (RCM) is an invisible pivot point that must be perfectly aligned with the surgical incision to prevent tearing the tissue.
